There are many misunderstandings or misinterpretations of
how technology is integrated in the classroom. Many think that by using a
laptop and/or document camera is integrating technology. Let the fear not stop
you from learning and you will see the impact that technology creates in the
students. Technology is a tool and can either obstruct or benefit a student when
it is being used effectively. Always keep in mind that the integration of
technology must fit the students' needs. Through collaboration and interaction
with the different technology devices, students will be engaged and maintain
focus in the activities. Adding technology can also help you to have more
student centered activities rather than teacher centered. I can’t wait to learn more about all the Web 2.0 tools that are
available to better enhance my teaching.
You make a great point, if the student is not benefiting then we have prepared in vain. This post also makes me think of how many more students could be reached if teachers better prepared themselves in learning new ways to integrate technology properly. I also look forward to what lies ahead in the course.
